THE nominees for the AFLW Players’ MVP Awards are in with Navy Blue talent named in every category.

With each club receiving three nominations for the top honour, it’s no surprise which three Blues have been thrown into the race.

Dominant ruck Breann Moody, classy forward Darcy Vescio and reigning AFLW Best and Fairest Maddy Prespakis have been nominated for the 2021 MVP.

Moody has been acknowledged after another standout year shouldering the majority of the ruck responsibilities: The consistent Blue played all nine rounds and placed fourth in the league table for hitouts with 170 for the season (18.9 per game).

With the record-breaking Darcy Vescio had up forward, her ascendancy as an offensive player could not be ignored.

Vescio finished the 2021 season as the first AFLW player to reach 40 career goals and the first player to kick 100 points in a season, making her the 2021 AFLW leading goalkicker.

Prespakis has been acknowledged with a nomination after yet another consistent year through Carlton’s midfield.

Missing just one game in 2021 through suspension, Prespakis was again the Blues’ most consistent ball-getter: she averaged 21.2 possessions (11.1 contested) and four score involvements over her eight games.

Outside the top honours, new Blue Mimi has received Carlton’s nomination for Best First Year Player. The youngster slotted in seamlessly to the Blues midfield before an ACL injury ended her season in Round 6.

Defender-turned-forward Nicola Stevens received the nomination for Carlton’s Most Courageous player having found her form inside 50 in 2021.

Capping off the Navy Blue representatives, co-captains Kerryn Harrington and Katie Loynes have been nominated for their second year at the helm as a duo.
