IT WILL be an important week for two of Carlton's favourite sons this weekend at the MCG.

When the Blues take on Port on Saturday night, skipper Sam Docherty will play his 100th game for Carlton.

With two years ruled out due to injury, Docherty has fought for every game he's played in the Navy Blue, showing true grit and leadership during his time at IKON Park.

Docherty hasn't missed a beat in his return to footy, getting his job done week in, week out since making his return in the 2020 season opener. Combining his defensive game with his attacking flair, the co-captain being back in action has been a sight for sore eyes.

At the other end of the ground, Eddie Betts will equal the most games played for Carlton by an Indigenous player: a record currently held by his former teammate Andrew Walker.

Walker played 202 games for the Blues between 2004-2016, with Betts playing his 202nd game in the Navy Blue this weekend.

Having notched his 200th game for the Club a fortnight ago, it's another milestone for the much-loved forward in Navy Blue since making his return to IKON Park 18 months ago.

With four other Indigenous players currently on Carlton's AFL list, Betts has already mentioned he would love to see 23-year-old Sam Petrevski-Seton go beyond him in the coming years.

There could yet be a third milestone this weekend: after his role as the medical sub last weekend, Matthew Kennedy could also play his 50th AFL game pending selection.
