THAT goal from Sam Walsh has been nominated for the Round 16 rebel Goal of the Year.

With the Blues leading by eight points in a pulsating final term, there was the sense around the MCG that the next goal would determine the outcome.

Up stepped the man for the occasion.

Keeping the ball alive, Walsh - stepping back in from the boundary line - received the ball back from Matthew Kennedy and snapped truly from a tight angle to ultimately seal the deal for the Blues.

It was the cherry on top of a courageous win, with last year's Mark of the Year winner now receiving a Goal of the Year nomination for Round 16.
