Our Programs

Next Generation Academy School

The schools program is aimed at helping the Next Generation Academy reach children between ages of 11-14, targeted at Grades 5&6 in primary school and Years 7&8 in secondary school, who are not necessarily playing local football.

This would include:

- A four-week community education program to cover the wellbeing component of the Next Generation Academy.

- Followed by three weeks of football skill acquisition, testing and talent identification.

- Schools are to be identified within focus areas of Cities of Whittlesea and Darebin.

Next Generation Academy Boys squad

A solely multicultural and Indigenous squad transitioning into a focus on elite development of skills centred around an elite environment at Ikon Park. If the talent is Aboriginal or was born in, or is of Asian or African descent, draft concessions apply which will give the Club first rights to draft key NGA talent.

Next Generation Academy Girls squad

Although there are not current draft concessions for the AFLW Next Generation Academy, we are pre-empting the change to these laws by creating a clear pathway for father-daughter draftees and multicultural and Indigenous talent. This would include 12 contact points with the Club over the year.

Carlton FC Under-15 team

The best talent in the Northern region, the AFL have handed the responsibility of being accountable for the best under 15 year old talent from the Northern Knights, to the Carlton FC. This is a way to integrate NGA participants into the mainstream talent pathway.
