Carlton’s AFLW practice match against Melbourne has been moved to the home of football, the MCG.

The game forms part of a double header alongside the AFL Round 22 Melbourne v Carlton match taking place at the same ground.

In what will be the Game Changers’ first ever outing on the ‘G, they will take on the Demons with bouncedown at 4:40pm AEST, before the AFL sides take to the field soon after at 7:25pm.

The Blues will be looking to build on the positive signs shown during their last meeting with Melbourne, when they were defeated by a single point after producing arguably their best performance of AFLW season six.

This will be the Game Changers’ final match preparation ahead of season seven, giving them the chance to unleash some new Blues - including first-round draftees Keeley Skepper and Mia Austin - before the season opener against Collingwood at IKON Park just 12 days later.

The double header forms part of a historic weekend for the AFL and AFLW with all 18 teams in action for the first time, as well as playing the same opponent in both competitions.

Gates will open at 4:15pm and patrons must have a valid ticket to the AFL Round 22 Melbourne v Carlton game to attend. Tickets can be purchased here.
