CARLTON up-and-comer Lila Keck has signed a one-year contract extension to keep her at IKON Park until at least the end of 2026.
Known for her electric game style and flair, Keck arrived at the Blues through the 2023 AFLW Draft, selected with pick No.7.
Adding a youthful energy into the side, the 19-year-old has the speed and skill to make an impact in the forward line, while also being strong in the contest to push into the midfield when required.
Featuring in six games in 2024, Keck’s best performance came against an in-form and experienced Brisbane Lions side, collecting 16 disposals and laying five tackles in just her fourth game.
Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said Keck has significant upside in what she can achieve at the highest level.
“One season in, Lila has only scratched the surface of her AFLW career and we have only seen a small amount of what she can produce on the big stage,” Naulty said.
“What a lot of people see is that Lila is a ball of energy: she bounces around IKON Park and brings smiles to others everywhere she goes. What people don't often see is her hard work and dedication to better herself every single day she walks through the door.
“She has worked incredibly hard this off-season and pre-season to develop as a player and we look forward to seeing her take another step forward in 2025.
“To have Lila, Meg Robertson and Harriet Cordner already sign on this pre-season is a testament to the tremendous work our recruitment team under Matthew Burton have done so far this year.”
