2023 was the year David Cuningham proved himself at Carlton.
Returning to the side in Round 14 and going on to play 12 games in total (an equal career-high), Cuningham put his injury troubles behind him and went on to become a mainstay in the Blues lineup.
Upon his return, Cuningham provided class and cleverness in the forward half, regularly hitting the scoreboard and setting up opportunities for his teammates.
This season also marked another special occasion for Cuningham, playing his 50th game against the Gold Coast in Round 23.
In reward for effort and a testament to his hard work away from the game, Cuningham was offered a one-year contract extension at the end of the 2023 season.
