A RETURN to traditional footy and a trip around the country earmark Carlton’s home-and-away fixture for the 2019 season.

The Blues’ 2019 fate was unveiled earlier, with Carlton to feature heavily in family-friendly day slots over the course of the year.

Of the 21 games with confirmed details, 16 games will be played during the day — nine of those are home games. A further four will also be played in Melbourne.

That includes games at the MCG against traditional rivals Collingwood (Round 8), Essendon (Round 11) and Richmond (Round 21).

After opening the season on a Thursday night against the Tigers, the Blues will host the Western Bulldogs on a Saturday night in Round 13. They will be the two night games which the Blues will play next year.

The Blues will play in the Saturday twilight slot in Round 2 against Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Interstate games against GWS (Round 9) and Fremantle (Round 15) will also be twilight games.

The final game against Geelong is still to be determined.

The Blues split their 22 games across nine venues next year, with 15 taking place between Marvel Stadium and the MCG.
