He was secured by Carlton in the dying minutes of the AFL’s Trade Period, and boy, were the Blues happy they got the deal done!

Andrejs Everitt had an immediate impact for Carlton and was one of the Blues most consistent players in season 2014.

In guernsey number 33, previously worn by Carlton greats including Peter McConville and Ryan Houlihan, Everitt made his navy blue debut in Round 1 against Port Adelaide.

Just minutes into the opening quarter the 25-year-old took a spectacular mark and slotted home a goal – a play that would set the tone for the way he would go about his season: consistent, reliable, dependable.

When asked how he was finding life at his third AFL club, Everitt told CFC TV that he’s feeling right at home.

“All the boys were pretty welcoming – especially the breakfast crew in the morning, they offered me a spot in their side,” Everitt joked.

"But obviously you can see the heritage; 150 years this year.

“We’re trying hard and we don’t pull on the jumper to not have a crack. I think next year you’ll see a better outfit than what we’ve been this year.”

Everitt ended the season on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury in the Round 18 match against the Kangaroos. Until then he had played in every game, the highlight being his performance against St Kilda in Round 16, when he finished with 23 disposals, 13 marks and two goals.
