Carlton’s co-vice captain Mimi Hill will call IKON Park home until at least the end of 2027, after signing a three-year contract extension.

A year before coming out of contract, Hill has put pen to paper on a long term deal that will keep her in the Navy Blue guernsey.

A standout player in 2023, Hill averaged just under 21 disposals and 5 tackles per game.

Rightfully recognised for her consistent performance, Hill was awarded third place in the Club’s Best and Fairest award.

Selected with Carlton’s first-round pick in the 2020 Draft, Hill took the league by storm, winning the Best First Year Player award at Carlton, the AFLW Rising Star award, and was named as the Season 7 Carlton Best and Fairest, all within her first two years in the program.

Known for her versatility and natural leadership, Hill often creates ways to involve her teammates in the game.

Despite being just 21 years of age, Hill stepped up as Captain in Rounds 9 and 10 (2023), helping to lead the team in the absence of captain Kerryn Peterson and fellow co-vice captain Jess Dal Pos.

Head of AFLW Ash Naulty said the Club was thrilled Hill will remain in the Navy Blue long term.

“Mimi has been a driver of change in our program and carries herself with such maturity,” Naulty said.

“She has an appetite for hard work and is always seeking ways to better her football skills, as well as her leadership skills.

“She upholds the values that we uphold as a Club, especially evident in her professional standards on and off the field, which we seek to instil in all our players. Her values are also central to the person she is and her qualities as a teammate, how deeply she cares for the people around her and how driven she is to help others get the best out of themselves.

“We are excited to watch her continue to develop as an all-round footballer with the versatility to play different roles across the midfield.

“Having her recommit to Carlton is a testament to the belief she has in the program that we have on offer here at IKON Park.”
