It’s week one – the hard work starts now.

Carlton’s 2016 campaign officially kicked off this week at Ikon Park, with senior coach Brendon Bolton taking charge of his young players for the first time.

Since being appointed coach at the end of August, ‘Bolts’ along with his new-look coaching panel of Neil Craig, Shane Watson, Dale Amos and Tim Clarke, have been working around-the-clock to create an exceptional football program and extract the best from the players.

Both on and off the field Carlton has reset its foundations, as the Club embarks on a new era at Ikon Park.

Speaking to SEN on Wednesday morning, Carlton’s CEO Steven Trigg said while there will be challenges along the way, he’s optimistic about the Club’s future.

“I don’t say this just for the sake of it, but there is an enormously positive tone through the whole place at the moment – in terms of resetting the foundations so we can grow,” Trigg said.

“We need to be able to build this (the Club) sustainably and that’s why we’re going to the efforts that we are to reset in terms of people, systems, and the playing list – we know there’s going to be a few ups and downs in the next little while.”

With every decision the Club makes, there is a single focus in mind – to ultimately achieve sustained success. Carlton’s CEO is urging all supporters to jump on board for the journey.

“We need membership to grow, we need our business model to grow and we need our performances on the ground to grow to sustain it.

“All of our supporters understand where we are at with the team and are saying the right things about their preparedness to come with us as we grow this team in being successful.”

With six young recruits arriving at the Club, as well as holding four top-20 picks at the upcoming national draft, Carlton supporters should be excited for what the future holds.
