The Carlton Football Club played host to a very special guest on Wednesday morning – 2016 Australian Open Quad Wheelchair champion Dylan Alcott.

The self-confessed Blues fan was presented with his 2016 membership by Marc Murphy, along with a signed guernsey, in front of the entire playing group.

As a lifelong Bluebagger, Alcott was excited to experience Carlton’s inner sanctum.

Alcott spoke to the players about his journey as a professional sportsman and took questions from the team – and there’s no doubt his inspirational story engaged all who were listening.

Less than two weeks ago, the 25-year-old was embraced by world No. 1 tennis champ Novak Djokovic after he successfully defended his Australian Open Men’s Quad Wheelchair crown.

Not only is Alcott a tennis champ, but he’s also represented his country playing basketball. In 2008, at the age of 17, he became the youngest player to win a gold medal in wheelchair basketball at the Beijing Olympics.

Alcott joins fellow Australian tennis player Daria ‘Dasha’ Gavrilova who is also #BoundByBlue.
