The Carlton Football Club began the first leg of its journey under senior coach Brendon Bolton in 2016.
After notching up seven wins for the season – three more than last year – the Blues ended up finishing 14th on the ladder.
With the team now on a break, we’re taking a look back at each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for Carlton’s No. 37, Daniel Gorringe:

OVERVIEW
The Blues acquired former top-10 draft pick Daniel Gorringe as a delisted free agent at the end of 2015.
After an injury-interrupted career at the Suns, the big man, who stands at 200cm tall, instantly strengthened Carlton’s ruck stocks in his first season.
Gorringe played for the Northern Blues between Rounds 1 to 8, before an injury to fellow ruckman Andrew Phillips opened up an opportunity in the senior side.
The keeper of the No. 37 jumper made his Carlton debut in Round 9 against North Melbourne, taking on in-form ruckman Todd Goldstein at Etihad Stadium.
In Round 11 against Brisbane Gorringe showed his marking ability, taking a solid grab on the wing in front of Lion Stefan Martin.
The 24-year-old played the following three games, however a disappointing hip injury kept him sidelined for the remainder of the season.
He said it:
“I met with SOS and Bolts, and they lent a hand out. For them to just give me an opportunity then was massive and now to play my first game for such a historic and proud footy club was an huge honour – it’s a privilege to wear this guernsey tonight.”

"(Daniel's) an elite runner, he's got a great endurance base and good speed. Footy is about opportunity and here's a good chance against a really quality ruckman. He's got a terrific engine so that gives him the opportunity.”

Season highlight:
Gorringe wasted no time in his debut game as a Blue. With two minutes left in the third quarter the agile big man kicked a mid-air major on the goal line. Despite the challenge of fronting up against the Roo’s illustrious Todd Goldstein, he managed 13 disposals and 7 kicks.
