It may have been raining cats and dogs, but that didn't stop the Blues from hitting the track for Tuesday's open training session at Visy Park.

Despite the weather, Carlton supporters turned up in their hundreds to cheer on the players as they worked through various skills sessions.

Blues defender Michael Jamison said that whilst this may surprise some, the rain came as a welcome relief.

"I'm from Ballarat so I certainly can't complain," said Jamison.

"We had a really solid session in the heat yesterday, so I think the boys welcomed the rain today.

"It (the rain) wasn't something pre-planned. Tuesdays are always a light session where we do a little bit of touch outside in rotating groups.

"I guess there might be the odd game this year where we might play in the rain, so to get a bit of practice in those conditions never hurts."

The 28-year-old who is so far enjoying his best pre-season in recent times, maintains the players are now focused on their upcoming training camp at Mount Buller.

"Leading into the past few (pre-seasons) I haven't had any surgery which is always nice," Jamison said.

"To be able to come in and do the majority of the sessions is always a bonus.

"We get to train on Mount Buller in a few weeks which we are really looking forward to…The extra training will lead to more consistency and that's certainly what we are after in games."
