THE Darebin Falcons proved too strong for Carlton on Saturday, handing the Blues their third straight VFLW loss of the season.

Playing in a double header at Ikon Park, it was the first time the VFLW team had played at the home of women’s football this year.

Carlton’s VFLW season coach Shannon McFerran assessed the performances of a number of players as the Blues look to regroup across the bye week.

Kerryn Harrington
Stats
: 19 disposals, 5 marks
From
the coach: Starting down back, Kerryn found plenty of the footy early. Her ball use is fantastic as well as her ability to read the ball defensively. A move into the midfield in the last quarter helped strengthen the midfield.

Sarah Hosking
Stats
: 13 disposals, 7 tackles
From
the coach: Sarah was yet again a tough competitor in what was a tough day. Her tackling pressure and run and carry were important throughout the game. A hard tackle late in the game didn’t deter Sarah who continued to run all day.

Madeline Keryk
Stats: 15 disposals, 4 tackles
From
the coach: Maddie put in another solid performance down back before moving into the midfield late in the game. Her pressure and ability to win the ball at the contest was strong and she was again a consistent contributor for the Blues.

Sophie Li
Stats:
21 disposals, 13 kicks
From the coach: '
Soph' ran hard all day and was our second highest possession winner on the ground with 21 touches. She also managed to hit the scoreboard and ended the day with one goal and two behinds.

Tilly Lucas-Rodd
Stats
: 23 disposals, 15 kicks
From
the coach: Back in the side after a rest last week, Tilly’s experience was valuable on the wing. She worked hard to set up defensively and was also able to help set up when we had the opportunity to move the ball forward. Tilly’s experience and leadership will help develop our VFLW players throughout the season.

Kate Shierlaw
Stats
: 11 disposals, 5 marks
From
the coach: Kate returned to the team this week after having a break. Kate was competitive up forward and continued to make strong leads. A lack of clean forward-line entries made it hard for Kate throughout the game.
