The Blues have named a near full-strength side for their JLT Community Series match against Fremantle at Domain Stadium on Friday night.

Captain Marc Murphy, Bryce Gibbs, Kade Simpson, Sam Docherty and Matthew Kreuzer are among the notable inclusions in the 27-man squad for what will be Carlton's final hit-out before Round 1.

First-year players Harrison Macreadie and Cameron Polson have also been named, while Patrick Cripps is set for more game time in his return to his home state.

Youngsters Dylan Buckley and Charlie Curnow, who sustained minor injuries in the loss to St Kilda, won't make the trip to Perth.

No.6 draft pick Sam Petrevski-Seton, who is yet to feature in the JLT Community Series because of a quad injury, will return via a Northern Blues trial game next week.

Carlton's 27-man squad will be reduced to 24 one hour and thirty minutes before the bounce.

A reminder that all Bluebaggers in Western Australia will have the chance to see the team up close when Carlton hits the track on the eve of the match. The open session will be held at Leederville Oval on Thursday morning, kicking off at 11:45am local time.
