Carlton Media selects its top-five player stats from the Blues' 17-point loss to West Coast at Domain Stadium on Saturday night:

Marc Murphy
Game–high 11 score involvements

Josh Kennedy may have booted six goals for the Eagles, but he didn't eclipse for Marc Murphy for score involvements. The Carlton captain was involved in a game-high 11 of his side's 23 scoring chains, providing the spark for the Blues' stunning third-quarter comeback.

Matthew Kreuzer
Game-high 15 contested possessions

Usually a stat dominated by midfielders, 200cm ruckman Matthew Kreuzer proved height was no barrier once again with a game-high 15 contested possessions. The big man has dominated in the aerial battles this season, but is just as adept at winning the ground-ball gets.

Jed Lamb
Game-high 3 tackles inside 50

Jed Lamb features in the top-five stats for the second consecutive week, but this time for what he did without the footy. The former Swan and Giant laid five tackles, with a game-high three inside 50.

Bryce Gibbs
Game-high 6 stoppage clearances

The Blues lost the centre clearance count 17 to 11, but had four more stoppage clearances. Bryce Gibbs led the way, winning a game-high six stoppage clearances. With midfield bulls Patrick Cripps and Ed Curnow missing, the Blues needed a strong presence in the stoppages and got it in the form of Gibbs.

Charlie Curnow
Team-high 8 marks

While not as damaging as usual inside attacking 50, Charlie Curnow worked hard to take a team-high eight marks (one contested). The exciting youngster has averaged 7.4 marks a game over the past seven rounds and hasn't been held goalless since Round 12.
