Small forward Matthew Wright’s third-quarter goal during the Blues’ Round 2 clash against Melbourne has landed him a nomination for the fan-voted AFL Goal of the Year. 

Following multiple efforts from new Blue Billie Smedts, Wright found himself on the end of a spilled footy on the boundary, instinctively snapping on goal under pressure to give the Blues the lead and send the Carlton faithful into raptures.
