On the 24th July, over 60 International students from RMIT University were given a tour of Visy Park.

The students were given a great insight into Australian culture and the Carlton Football club was more than happy to recruit some new supporters.

The tour of the facilities allowed the students to improve their knowledge of the game and understand what Australian Rules football is all about. After a short skills session in the players warm up area, the students could finally understand that ‘football’ did not necessarily only mean ‘soccer’. The students were also allowed access to the clubs lecture theatre and watched highlights from the weekend’s game. The group was surprised to see players of so many different shapes and sizes, as well as ethnic backgrounds.

To complete their learning experience, the students were given tickets to the weekend’s game against Richmond. The group was very excited to be attending their first live game at the MCG and  promised to cheer for the Blues.
