Josh Fraser analyses the games of every Carlton-listed player who fronted up in the side’s demoralising 107-point loss against the Casey Scorpions at Casey Fields on Sunday afternoon.

7. Dylan Buckley
Stats: 16 disposals, 4 marks, 3 inside-50s, 4 rebound-50s
From the coach: It was his first game back after a couple of weeks out, and he worked his way into it playing off half-back. He was important for us in the second half generating run.

18. Daniel Gorringe
Stats: 6 disposals
From the coach: Only played a half before going off through injury: he was limited by opportunities forward and got up the ground a bit more in the second quarter to create some inside-50s.

26. Matthew Dick
Stats: 26 disposals, 8 marks, 8 tackles
From the coach: It was a really solid performance from Matty, who positioned himself well and his ability to halve the contest was pleasing. He provided good run and ball movement from the back half.

31. Jayden Foster
Stats: 11 disposals, 3 rebound-50s
From the coach: He was beaten early in a one-on-one but responded really well to halve many contests and play a significant defensive role in our back six. He continues to work hard and is showing improvement gradually.

32. Nick Graham
Stats: 32 disposals, 9 marks, 14 tackles, 10 clearances, 5 inside-50s
From the coach: Terrific performance from Nicky, who displayed a brutal mindset to compete in the contest and conditions. He made numerous tackles and he led the way all day from the middle.

36. Cameron Wood
Stats: 2 disposals, 15 hitouts, 4 tackles
From the coach: Woody was also one who only played a half: he was good particularly in the first quarter in giving our midfielders first use but he didn't impact enough around the ground.

38. Billy Gowers
Stats: 7 disposals, 3 clearances, 4 tackles
From the coach: It was Bill’s first game back after a layoff, where he was used through the midfield and he gave us some impact around congestion. But he wasn’t able to use run and spread on the outside.

42. Blaine Boekhorst
Stats: 14 disposals, 10 tackles, 3 inside-50s
From the coach:
Blaine worked into the game particularly in the second half. He got an opportunity on-ball in the second half where he exited some stoppages with run and created offensive movement.

48. Kristian Jaksch
Stats: 16 disposals, 3 marks, 3 rebounds-50s, 5 tackles
From the coach:
KJ started forward but was again moved down back after Kieran McGuinness went down: he had some positive contests where he spoiled aggressively but others where he didn’t impact the contest. He continues to work really hard on his game.

65. Dillon Viojo-Rainbow
Stats: 15 disposals, 5 clearances, 6 tackles
From the coach:
Started the game well where he had some really important ground balls in the conditions and some good decision-making to get the ball into attacking positions for us. Played multiple roles inside, back and forward but faded as the game went on.

67. Clem Smith
Stats: 12 disposals, 7 tackles
From the coach:
Clem keeps showing glimpses of what he is capable of in regards to work-rate, but he is yet to do it consistently enough. When he works hard inside 50 he’s one of our most dangerous in creating scoring opportunities.

76. Jason Tutt
Stats: 20 disposals, 4 marks, 4 clearances, 7 tackles
From the coach:
He played a variety of roles, midfield and forward. At times he played the conditions well, surging under pressure and had some good examples of tackling pressure. Jason continues to build consistency in his game.

80. Matthew Korcheck
Stats:
2 disposals, 42 hitouts, 4 tackles
From the coach:
Some good exposure playing the second half as a lone ruckman, won more than his fair share of hitouts and played a really good game.
