Carlton CEO Greg Swann has announced that Brendan Fevola is on his last chance and any further alcohol-related incidents would see his playing contract with the Club terminated

Swann confirmed at this afternoon's media conference that Fevola would not be suspended by the Club and would be available to play in Thursday night's season opener against Richmond at the MCG.

"We did discuss a number of possible actions and the sanctions we have decided on are considered the most appropriate. We consulted with psychologists and other experts to ensure Brendan will be penalised appropriately and receive the necessary support to assist him with the issues he faces.

"The latest incident is alcohol-related, similar to previous incidents that Brendan has been involved in," Swann said.

The Carlton leadership group, in conjunction with Swann, senior coach Brett Ratten and General Manager Football Operations Steven Icke met earlier today and decided on the following sanctions:

Brendan will be stood down from the leadership group
He will be fined the maximum amount possible - $10,000
He will be enrolled in alcohol and welfare courses in conjunction with the AFLPA
His contract with Carlton will be terminated if he is guilty of one more alcohol-related incident

Swann said both the Club and the player acknowledged Brendan has a problem which needs to be addressed immediately.
