Carlton staff have been kicking goals off the track, with four Blues trainees graduating from their courses last week.

In 2015, the Carlton Football Club ran a traineeship program to create employment and training opportunities for year 12 school leavers.

Last Thursday marked a special day for four of the trainees, who graduated from Chisholm College and were presented with their certificates at a celebratory morning tea at Ikon Park.

The trainees included: Mitchell Knight, who completed his third year as a venue trainee, as well as his Diploma of Business; Mariah Hanrahan, who finished her second year as a membership trainee and a Certificate IV in Business; Billy Madytianos, who completed his Certificate III in Business as a membership trainee; and Will Peters, who also completed his Certificate III in Business but as a merchandise trainee.

All the trainees have been successful in gaining employment and furthering their career development.

Carlton’s human resources manager Luisa Amarella says she’s incredibly proud of the trainees and what they have achieved.

“The dedication and hard work displayed from the trainees has been outstanding,” Amarella said.

“I’ve been equally impressed with their motivation to learn as much as they have on the job, and how well they have blended in with their teams while assisting in delivering key departmental objectives.

“We wish them all well and every success in the future.”
