Carlton champion Chris Judd is a strong chance to play this week, but it is yet to be determined whether that will be at AFL or VFL level.

Judd strained his hamstring during the Blues' win over the Western Bulldogs in round five, in what was his first game of the season.

Blues vice-captain Andrew Carrazzo said the 30-year-old dual Brownlow Medallist is ready to go on Friday night against Geelong if he is picked.

"He'll give us a huge boost,” Carrazzo said.

"But, in saying that, it's his first game back after a long spell and having only played five minutes of footy earlier in the year it is going to take him some time to find his place and his role out there."

Judd trained indoors as his Blues teammates ran around for a light session at Visy Park on Thursday morning.
