Carlton’s match committee is set to have some tough decisions come Round 1, with the entire playing list expected to be fully fit and available for selection.

Some 17 Blues had post-season surgery and some remain on a reduced training workload.

But Carlton’s GM - Football Operations Andrew McKay says after the Australia Day break he expects the entire list will be back to full training – including star recruit Dale Thomas.

“Dale has been back running for a couple of months now and we’re slowly increasing his training load,” McKay said.

“He’ll play in a few practice matches and we fully expect him to be right for Round 1.”

Ruckman Matthew Kreuzer is another whose training remains limited.

McKay says Kreuzer’s foot is still healing from the injury he suffered at the end of the season.

“At the moment Kreuzer’s doing a lot of straight line running without any change of direction,” McKay said.

“But we’re starting to load him up and he’ll be back to full training in a week or so."

Meanwhile after a frustrating year hampered by calf injuries, Carlton veteran Andrew Carrazzo is fit and ready to fire.

McKay says the vice-captain is “flying” and having a positive impact on the whole playing group.

“Obviously Andrew has great leadership qualities on and off the field, so for him to be in full training at this time of year is great for the group,” McKay said.

“We’re looking forward to having a big year with him this year.”
