Carlton’s Lachie Henderson says it’s been business as usual at Visy Park this week, as the Blues prepare to chase their first win of the season against arch rival Essendon.

The Bombers are coming off a close encounter with the Hawks, while Carlton was narrowly defeated by the Tigers in Round 2.

Henderson has told SEN, the players are looking forward to taking to the big stage at the MCG.

“The Essendon-Carlton games are always big, but obviously the way we’ve started has made it a bit bigger,” Henderson said.

“They’re a great team – they (Essendon) took Hawthorn all the way, so we’re going to have to be at our best to beat them.”

Dubbed Carlton’s “swingman” after spending time at both ends of the ground last season, Henderson revealed he’s not fussed where he plays this year.

“I came in as a forward,” Henderson said of the beginning of his AFL career.

“But then the first year or two at Brisbane I played a bit of everywhere, because we didn’t have a ruckman either at that point, so I played a couple of games in the ruck which was interesting.

“I think as a youngster I was a forward, so I preferred to play forward .. but I’m happy to play anywhere.”

Carlton and Essendon will go head-to-head at the MCG at 7.10pm AEST on Sunday.
