Carlton ruckmen Matthew Kreuzer and Robert Warnock have been named in a reduced squad for Saturday night’s NAB Cup second round match with Fremantle at Etihad Stadium.

Kreuzer and Warnock are the welcome inclusions in a squad of 27, compared with the 33 who participated at various stages of last Sunday’s matches with GWS and reigning Premier Sydney in Blacktown.

Dylan Buckley, Nick Graham, Pat McCarthy, Rhys O’Keeffe and Matthew Watson - who all featured at various stages of the Blacktown double-header – will represent the Northern Blues, while Josh Bootsma, who is still battling gastric illness after withdrawing from last weekend’s matches, is again unavailable for selection.

Meanwhile Andrew Collins, Nick Graham and Shaun Hampson are to be rested.

Carlton General Manager - Football Operations Andrew McKay explained that with the obvious reduction in squad numbers “we continue to balance the load of our list”.

“Therefore, some will be playing for Northern Blues and some will be rested,” McKay said.
