Men across Australia are preparing to step up to a rather hairy challenge.

Three Carlton players are taking part in Movember this year; Nick Graham, David Ellard and new recruit Sam Docherty.

The Movember campaign aims to raise awareness of men's health issues, as well as much-needed funds for research into illnesses including testicular and prostate cancer.

Nick Graham is hoping he can match it with some of Carlton's more famous mo's.

"After looking up to the likes of Mick Malthouse and Dennis Armfield this past year, it has inspired me to join the prestige mo' club," Graham said.

"But on a more serious note, it is for a great cause. I'm happy to do whatever I can to raise some money for men's health, so hopefully people will support us and get behind the campaign."
