The Carlton Football Club will be in Bendigo tomorrow and Friday as part of the 2013 Australia Post AFL Community Camps.

All senior-listed players will spend two days participating in a range of community activities including hospital, aged care and primary school visits.

On top of this, the players will hold a NAB AFL Auskick Superclinic for local schoolchildren.

Carlton midfielder Bryce Gibbs said the Australia Post AFL Community Camp was an important program to help expand the Club’s presence within regional Victoria.

“The Community Camp is something we look forward to every year because it gives us the chance to be involved with local communities,” Gibbs said.

“We don’t often have the opportunity to meet our supporters in the regional areas, so the camp is an important way for us to further promote our Club as well as the AFL.

“For the supporters, it’s not often that they get to interact so closely with the Club on a personal basis, so I’m sure they will be looking forward to it as much as us."

The Australia Post AFL Community Camp is part of a national program that will see all AFL Clubs visit communities across Australia, giving locals the opportunity to get close to the AFL at the highest level.
