Carlton's Andrew Walker says the build-up to Friday night's blockbuster against Hawthorn has been no different to any other week.

The Blues haven't beaten Hawthorn since 2005.

Walker's told SEN it will be a massive test,  but he believes his side has what it takes to match it with the Hawks.

"We are so talented, and yet for some reason at the minute we're just falling short by under two goals every week. We've shown we can match it with the best sides and I think we match up extremely well against Hawthorn. We're looking forward to the challenge."

Former Carlton coach Brett Ratten is now an assistant coach at Hawthorn, but Walker says that doesn't necessarily mean the Hawks will have an inside advantage.

"Oh (he'll tell them) that I'm a great bloke I think. He'll have information on us, he'll be the opposition coach for the week. But we're a completely different side under Mick to what we were under Ratts."

Carlton could regain Andrew Carrazzo, who has missed a month of football with an injured calf.

Walker says his teammate has been working hard to get his body right.

"He's the first bloke who's in the Altitude Room doing all his work, making sure he's speeding up the recovery so that he can have an impact when he comes back."

Friday night's match kicks off at 7.50pm at Etihad Stadium.
