TAKE the test, it might just save your life.

That’s the vital message The Jodi Lee Foundation wants everyone to hear.

Raising awareness for the prevention of bowel cancer, the Blues’ Round 6 clash against the Bulldogs on Friday night is in support of The Jodi Lee Foundation.

Since its launch in 2010, The Jodi Lee Foundation has been on a mission to empower all Australians to take active steps to prevent bowel cancer, resulting in happier and healthier lives.

Key forward Levi Casboult, who fittingly plays his 100th game this weekend, is an ambassador for the foundation.

The cause is close to his heart, after his uncle was diagnosed with the disease in 2014.

“Thankfully he was one of the lucky ones that got it early and has come out the other side of treatment,” Casboult said.

“It’s something that’s close to me and made me want to put my hand up and do what I can to get the awareness of bowel cancer out there.

“Every time we play for The Jodi Lee Foundation it’s a special game, so to play my 100th this week makes it even more special.”

Although 90 per cent of bowel cancer cases can be successfully treated if detected early, it’s estimated 17,000 Australians will be diagnosed this year alone. Bowel cancer is also Australia’s second biggest cancer killer, claiming 5,000 lives each year.
