Carlton’s latest recruit Andrejs Everitt will wear the No.33 most recently vacated by its 201-game player Ryan Houlihan, the current games record holder in the guernsey.

The number has also been worn with distinction by Carlton Premiership players Matthew Hogg (1995), Peter McConville (1979 and ’81-’82), Paul Hurst (1972) and Ritchie Green (1947).

Everitt took custody of the 33 after the club’s two other pre-draft tradees Dale Thomas and Sam Docherty opted for numbers 39 and 15 respectively.

Five Carlton Premiership players - Ernie Jamieson, Charlie Fisher, Vin Brown, Phil Pinnell and Val Perovic - have previously worn the No.15, with the late Carlton captain Bruce Comben the guernsey’s games record holder with 188.

Recently vacated guernsey numbers still available to Carlton’s prospective national, pre-season and rookie draftees into 2014 are 16 (Andrew Collins), 19 (Eddie Betts), 20 (Rhys O’Keeffe), 22 (Shaun Hampson), 24 (Patrick McCarthy), 25 (Luke Mitchell), 31 (Marcus Davies) and 45 (Aaron Joseph).

The remaining available numbers last used by Carlton players at senior level are 36 (Darren Pfeiffer 2009), 47 (Greg “Fritzl” Bentley 2009), 48 (Jordan Doering 2002), 49 (Phil Poursanidis 1989), 50 (Ben Robertson 1992), 51 (Gerard Butts 1988), 52 (Heath Culpitt 1999), 53 (Simon Minton-Connell 1989), 54 (Wayne Harmes 1977), 55 (Brent Heaver 1992) and 56 (Ang Christou 1991).
