Carlton will be without Jarrad Waite for the weekend clash with Fremantle.

The key forward is continuing to recover from bone bruising near his knee.

But Carlton's General Manager of Football Andrew McKay says Waite should be back for the round 20 match against the Western Bulldogs.

"Jarrad's progressing really nicely. He's obviously back into training now, but still a week away. So you will see Jarrad not this week, but the following."

Several other players  could be available for selection for the Western Bulldogs match, including Andrew Collins, David Ellard and Andrew McInnes.

The news is not so good for Shaun Hampson – his recovery is progressing slower than expected and he's likely to spend at least another three weeks on the sidelines.

While Simon White has been ruled out for the season after suffering a fractured vertebrae.
