The Southern Stars have taken out the Peregrine Cup – a charity football match hosted by the Carlton Football Club.

The match was played at Visy Park on Sunday, with the Southern Stars doing battle with the Northern Night Hawks for the second consecutive year.

It was a nail-biting final quarter – the Stars eventually prevailing by six-points, 66 to the Night Hawks 60.

The celebrations continued for the Southern Stars, after their player Thanu Ravindran was named Best On Ground.

Spectators say it was also a fantastic effort by the Night Hawks, who have come a long way from their 10-goal defeat last year.

All proceeds from the match will be shared between Interplast and Carlton Football Club Community Fund.

Interplast provides surgical and allied health services in developing countries in the Asia Pacific, through free medical treatment and training.

The CFC Community Fund was established in January 2009, through the vision of then Carlton Football Club President Richard Pratt. His vision was to help the community by assisting people from disadvantaged, newly arrived and refugee backgrounds, through a range of programs and services.

On behalf of the Carlton Football Club, we would like to thank everyone who took part for their support.
