OVERVIEW

After enduring a torrid season marred by injury in 2012, Jeremy Laidler would have been hoping for far better luck in 2013. Unfortunately this would not be the case for the 24-year old, who played in just the one senior game in Round 2 against Collingwood.

An extremely reliable defender when fully fit, Laidler departed Visy Park at the end of the 2013 season in the hope of finding more consistent opportunities elsewhere.

Laidler ready to bounce back

HE SAID IT

THEY SAID IT

“Each of these eight boys (including Laidler) have all made a valuable contribution to the Carlton Football Club and we thank them for that.”

“In Jeremy’s meeting he expressed he would like to look for an opportunity at another Club and we respect and support his decision to do so.” – Carlton’s GM Football Operations Andrew McKay commenting on Carlton’s list changes for 2014

SEASON HIGHLIGHT

While his opportunities in the senior side were limited, Laidler was a more than solid contributor for the Northern Blues in the VFL. He was especially prominent in the side’s win over eventual premiers Box Hill in Round 14, in a performance that saw him consistently pick off the Hawks’ forward 50 entries while also providing strong rebound from defence.
