The Carlton Football Club has proposed a Special Resolution to change Clause 3.3 of the Club’s constitution, which would see Country and Interstate members given the right to vote on Club matters.

The change has been proposed ahead of the Carlton Football Club's 149th Annual General Meeting, to be held later this month.

As it stands, only adult members with an 11-game Carlton membership or greater are eligible to vote at general meetings.

Therefore, unless they buy an 11-game membership, Country and Interstate members are not entitled to vote.

Under AFL guidelines, a Country or Interstate member is a person who resides in excess of 120km from the GPO in the city where the Club is based.

The move is aimed at increasing transparency and participation, as well as enabling our interstate members to be even more involved in the Carlton family.

We want you to tell us how you would like to see the Club run, ahead of our historic 150th year.

All eligible voting members would have been notified of the proposed change via email or post.

To have your say, follow the voting instructions and cast your vote by 6.00pm, Saturday 14 December.

Carlton’s AGM is set to be held at the MCG on Monday, 16 December 2013 at 6.00pm.
