Carlton's Bryce Gibbs has been nominated for the AFL's Goal of the Year.

Gibbs has been nominated for his brilliant goal from the boundary in the dying minutes of Thursday night's clash with Richmond at the MCG.

After Kane Lucas forced a turnover, Jeff Garlett got the ball to Gibbs on the boundary, who finished with a kick that bounced in front of goal then straight through the middle.

The passage of play has also been nominated in Carlton's Plays of the Day for Round 2.
