Culinary skills were put to the test yesterday morning as some of Carlton Football Club's finest chefs hit the kitchen in one of Melbourne's most renowned restaurants: Cecconi's in Flinders Lane.

Fresh from their 32-point win over St Kilda on Monday night, Troy Menzel, Dylan Buckley, David Ellard and Sam Rowe were given the task of preparing pasta from scratch.

From combining the fresh ingredients, to kneading the dough to the perfect texture – the boys listened intently as Cecconi's head chef Daniel Kranjcic gave away a few trade secrets.

Having enjoyed a strong relationship with the Blues over the years, Cecconi's provides the perfect location for catching up with friends and colleagues.

As Cecconi's Maria Bortolotto explains, it's a relationship that they look forward to continuing into the future.

"Cecconi's and the Carlton Football Club have been in partnership together for many years now," Mrs Bortolotto said.

"My family have been Carlton members since I can remember and now that it's filtered through to the restaurant – it's part of our family, which is fantastic."

Cecconi's is partnering with the Blues to cater for the upcoming President's Function at the MCG ahead of Carlton's Round 10 clash with Adelaide.
