Carlton’s Simon White will be available for selection for Sunday’s clash with St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

White was a late withdrawal against Collingwood as a precaution, with the Blues not wanting to risk the defender after he injured his knee the previous week.

But key forward Jarrad Waite is in doubt after injuring his hip playing in the VFL.

Football operations manager Andrew McKay says Waite will need to get through training this week.

“He (Waite) just jarred his hip in the VFL game last Sunday,” McKay said. “The scan has come up pretty good, so he’ll be a test this week but I imagine he’ll play."

Meanwhile top draft pick Patrick Cripps looks set to return from his leg injury and line up for the Northern Blues on Sunday.

Cripps had been recovering from a fractured leg, but has now returned to full training.

McKay says he expects the young gun to push his case for senior selection towards the end of the season.

“He obviously needs some game fitness first – he’s been out for six weeks or so,” McKay said.

"First year players haven’t got the strength and the stamina of a hardened AFL player, so he needs to get some game time into him first before being selected.

“Certainly we’re looking forward to him playing in the last few games of the year.”
