A bombshell was dropped on day six of the AFL trade period, with Greater Western Sydney's No.1 draft pick Tom Boyd requesting to be traded to the Western Bulldogs.

The Giants have since stated that they will not trade the star forward under any circumstance, despite the Bulldogs willing to organise a swap for their skipper Ryan Griffen.
