This Friday night's Round 5 blockbuster between Carlton and Collingwood has more than just bragging rights at stake.

For the sixth year in a row the archenemies will battle it out for the Richard Pratt Cup at the MCG.

The match raises awareness for prostate cancer and honours the memory of former Blues President Richard Pratt, who passed away from the disease in 2009.

Before the first bounce, there will be 32 seconds of applause to recognise and support the 32 men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer everyday.

Approximately 3,300 men pass away each year from the disease, making prostate cancer the No.1 killer among Australian males.

Carlton ruckman Robert Warnock is an ambassador for the Richard Pratt Cup and hopes this initiative will encourage men to get regular prostate checks.

“We’re proud to be part of this game that helps raise awareness for prostate health and money for the Richard Pratt Fellowships in Prostate Cancer Research Foundation,” Warnock said.

“Prostate cancer is the most common cancer amongst men so we urge men around Victoria to visit their local GP and ensure they are regularly screened for prostate cancer, it could be a life saving decision.”

Money raised from the match will be used to fund the Fellowship to help improve treatment for sufferers.
