2015 season: A nasty elbow injury in pre-season limited Plowman to just two games in 2015. The 21-year-old returned via the Giants’ reserves in Round 14, before making his first senior appearance of the season against Carlton in Round 22.

Best AFL performance: Plowman worked his way into the senior line-up for the final seven games of the 2014 season, with his Round 22 performance against Collingwood a highlight. The former first-round draft pick had 16 disposals and eight tackles in defence, as the Giants were narrowly beaten on home soil.

He said it: “He's a very, very good player. Key defenders are hard to find and he's just a ripper kid who is very optimistic. He's a good kick and he seems to make impeccable decisions.”

What we can expect: The highly rated Plowman could slot straight into Carlton’s back six in 2016, particularly given Lachie Henderson’s departure. He has a terrific ability to win the ball in the air and at ground level, along with poise and good decision-making skills. He has drawn comparisons to three-time Geelong premiership player Andrew Mackie.
