Carlton has boosted its forward stocks by taking Harry McKay with pick 10 in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft.

In his first game for Gippsland Power the 17-year-old (who turns 18 on Christmas Eve), kicked four goals as he exploded onto the scene.

Standing at 200cm tall and weighing 94kg, McKay also has the ability to rotate through the ruck.

He constantly uses his size to his advange by putting his body in the right positions. He also takes a strong overhead mark.

McKay was a consistent performer in the NAB AFL Under-18 Championship and played a standout game against South Australia. He was also named in the U18 All-Australian team this year.

Carlton’s General Manager of List Management and Strategy Stephen Silvagni says McKay is a key position player.

“Harry is a real key position forward who is great above his head,” Silvagni said.

“He’s also very mobile, which is an added bonus.”

Welcome, Harry!
