Milestone: Kade Simpson

If selected, Carlton’s vice-captain Kade Simpson will line up for his 250th AFL game on Sunday when the Blues face Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium.

The relentless defender was drafted to Carlton in the 2002 national draft with the Club’s fourth round selection (45) and made his debut in Round 11, 2003 against Geelong. With his trademark run and dash off the halfback line, it’s no wonder the fan favourite was awarded the John Nicholls Medal in 2013. This year, after seven rounds, Simpson is the Blues' leading possession winner, averaging 27.3 disposals per game, and is ranked seventh in the competition for rebound 50s (35).

The Club will celebrate Simpson’s milestone in the lead up to the Club’s clash with Port Adelaide via social media channels using the hashtag #Simmo250.

Milestone: Michael Jamison

If selected, Carlton defender Michael Jamison will reach his 150-game milestone when the Blues take on the Power this Sunday afternoon.

Taken in the 2007 rookie draft, Jamison was quickly elevated to the Club’s senior list the following year and cemented his position as a reliable, consistent performer in the Blues’ backline. Elevated to the Club’s leadership group in 2010, the defender was also voted the Best Clubman in the same year.

Ring of Honour:

Carlton’s 2012 John Nicholls Medallist Heath Scotland will ring the historic old Blue bell at the top of Carlton’s race 15 minutes prior to the first bounce, before being inducted to the Carlton Ring of Honour on Sunday afternoon.

Scotland played 215 games for Carlton after making his debut for the Blues in Round 1, 2004 v Fremantle. A real leader of the Club throughout a trying period in Carlton’s history, Scotland made a home for himself at Princes Park. He was named Best Clubman in 2011, the same year he also became a Life Member of the Club.

Peter has created a football club for the youth in Carlton’s heartland, bringing people of all different cultures together. He has also gone above and beyond in his role to provide opportunities for the youth of Carlton to be more actively involved in local community events.

Through a new club initiative, Carlton will acknowledge one of its supporters at every home game this season, recognising their work in gender equality, cultural inclusion or developing grassroots football in the community. All of these fields play a vital role in educating, growing and providing better experiences in our local community.
