Matthew Kreuzer and Levi Casboult spent much of Saturday morning's light training session watching on as the Blues prepare for Sunday's clash with Geelong.

With rain falling on a cold day in Melbourne, the Blues trained indoors at Ikon Park with Kreuzer and Casboult doing minimum work.

Both have missed one match but have been named in the team to play at Etihad Stadium, in what would be an extraordinarily short recovery.

Neither looked to be in any discomfort and moved freely.

Kreuzer required keyhole surgery on his left knee following a meniscus tear, while Casboult had a depression on his left tibia, rather than a hairline fracture on the bone in his left leg as initially feared.

They were hurt in the two-point win against Port Adelaide in round eight. Both had heavy strapping on their injured joints.

Casboult was one of the last to leave after taking time to practise his goalkicking.

Kreuzer also tested out his kicking before moving on to stationary drills.

Emergencies Liam Jones and Daniel Gorringe trained, with the Northern Blues having a bye in the VFL this week.
