With the Blues amid preparations for their Round 6 clash against Sydney on Saturday 29 April, it’s time to plan your trip to the ‘G.

With the MCG's Yarra Park closed due to heavy rain and ongoing wet conditions, we've drawn up a plan B.

Secure Parking  

Prefer to drive to the match? Secure Parking has you covered. The closest Secure Parking car park to the MCG is located at 12-20 Flinders Lane, Melbourne.

On-street parking:

Limited metered parking is available around the Botanical Gardens and along the Yarra River.

Train

Jolimont and Richmond Train Stations are within walking distance of the MCG.

To get to Jolimont station take Hurstbridge or Epping line trains. To get to Richmond station from the city, take any train on the Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Dandenong, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston or Sandringham lines.

Tram

Trams No.75 (City-Vermont South), No.48 (City-North Balwyn) and No.70 (City-Wattle Park) stop within walking distance of the ground. 

Bus

The Bus route 246 is run by National Bus Company, which links La Trobe University with Elsternwick Station. The 246 Bus stops on Punt Road.

Taxi

There are three taxi ranks located near the MCG for patrons to safely hail a taxi:

  • Outside Pullman Hotel - Cnr Wellington Pde and Clarendon St East Melbourne
  • Outside Rod Laver Arena on Olympic Boulevard
