Gentle giant Matthew Kreuzer has notched up his 150th game for Carlton and says his passion for the Club is long-lived.

The ruckman celebrated the milestone in style with a one-point win over league leader Greater Western Sydney at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

In the wake of the victory, Kreuzer – who is amid his 10th AFL season – was proud to be a Carlton man.

“I love the Club and I love playing here,” Kreuzer told 3AW on Monday.

“I’ve been here (at Carlton) since I was 18. They’ve done a lot for me over the years and I’m just looking forward to the future now.”

During his 150th outing, the 28-year-old managed 21 disposals, 33 hitouts, eight tackles and one goal to play a vital role in the Blues’ fourth victory for 2017 – a win the resilient Blue said was one of his most memorable.

“It’s definitely up there (as one of best wins),” Kreuzer said.

“It’s been great seeing the young boys, what they’ve been able to do for the Club this year and last year, it really means a lot and to get those wins, it’s pretty special.”

The performance of the tall continued his string of admirable efforts across the first half of the season.

While a humble Kreuzer refrained from conceding to the notion of being in career-best form, he admitted he was reaping the rewards of an optimistic pre-season.

“I’ve had some OK years in the past but this has probably been one of my most consistent years,” he said.

“I had a good pre-season so having that to work off for this year has been really good.

“The body’s feeling good at the moment, but it’s just nice to be able to play some consistent footy.

“All I’m focusing on now is just backing it up each week.”
