CARLTON has confirmed twins Sarah and Jess Hosking will line up together at NAB AFLW level for the first time when the Blues open the season against Collingwood on Friday night.

Coach Damien Keeping believes the identical twins, from Seaford in Melbourne's south-east, bring a new dynamic to the team.

"[It's] something we are really excited about," he said at a joint press conference with Collingwood coach Wayne Siekman at Ikon Park on Thursday morning.

"[They are] two wonderful individuals who have contributed enormously to our list… [and fans] will be excited seeing those two run out together."

Jess Hosking sustained an ACL injury prior to the first NAB AFLW Draft in 2016, and required a shoulder reconstruction that ruled her out for the 2017 season.

She was selected at pick 78, with Carlton viewing her as a long-term midfield asset. Although sidelined, she played an important off-field role in the team's inaugural campaign with her professionalism and insight from elite netball.

Sarah spent most of the 2017 season as an inside midfielder, and played in the club's inaugural victory against Collingwood in the opening game.
