CARLTON has named four club debutants for Thursday night's season opener against Richmond at the MCG.

Prized draft pick Paddy Dow headlines the new Blues selected, joined by Matthew Kennedy, Jarrod Garlett and Aaron Mullett.

Selected at pick No.3 in last year's national draft, explosive midfielder Dow showcased his class in the Blues' pre-season campaign, playing both JLT Community Series matches alongside former Giant Kennedy and former Kangaroo Mullett.

Garlett will play his first AFL game since Round 22, 2016, having been picked up with the final selection in last year's draft.

Matthew Kreuzer has overcome a pre-season ankle injury and takes his place in the line-up, while Patrick Cripps and Ed Curnow return to the midfield after having their 2017 seasons cut short by injury.

The Blues and Tigers will go head-to-head from 7:25pm EDT tomorrow, with a crowd of 90,000-plus expected.
