The Blues’ young playing list was faced with a number of challenges in 2018, and as a result, finished the year with fewer wins than previous seasons.

However, the valuable experience gained by first and second-year players, coupled with the resilience built within the team, will no doubt hold the Club in good stead for years to come.

With the side now on a break, we’re analysing each player’s year in statistics. Here’s the review for Carlton’s No.41, Levi Casboult.

2018 IN FOCUS
After leading Carlton's goalkicking last season, 2018 didn't quite turn out as planned for key forward Levi Casboult.

Cementing his spot in the Blues' attack in the early rounds of the season, the 200cm spearhead sustained a fractured rib and lung damage in Round 7 against Adelaide, returning to face Fremantle in Round 13.

Casboult struggled to hit his straps in his return. A late withdrawal against Collingwood in Round 14, he returned to the line-up against Port Adelaide in Round 15, but his only appearance at senior level for the rest of the season would come against Hawthorn in Round 18, with the 28-year-old playing the last five games in the VFL.

Contracted until the end of 2019, the childhood Bluebagger will be keen to hit the ground running in the upcoming pre-season.

BEST PERFORMANCE
Casboult booted a season-high four goals against the Pies in Round 3. He also amassed career-highs in clearances (four) and metres gained (327) in the loss to Collingwood.

SEASON HIGHLIGHT
Casboult cemented himself in Carlton history after becoming the first Blue to reach 100 games in the No.41 guernsey. With his name now on locker 41, he completed the sequence of lockers 1 to 45.
