ADAM Cerra has done a little bit of everything this year.

Starting out in his traditional position as an inside midfielder, Cerra shifted out to a wing and then moved to half-back following an injury to teammate Nic Newman.

As Carlton’s No.5 has always done, he has taken it in his stride, proving himself to be a key contributor in all three roles he’s played this season.

Speaking to media earlier in the week, Cerra said he has relished the chance to spend extended time in his new role.

“I’m really enjoying my time at half-back, that’s where I see myself playing my best footy,” Cerra said.

“I was spending a bit of time on the wing in the middle part of the year and I find myself at half-back now. I’m really enjoying it, I feel like I can still contribute to the team and bring other parts of my game to the fore.

“To be able to change to the half-back role, still contribute and bring my strengths to the team, it’s been great.”

Cerra and the Blues have been living the ‘get better every day’ mantra that has been a constant message under AFL Senior Coach Josh Fraser, allowing the Blues to keep a narrow focus on the road to securing a wildcard position.

What’s fuelling the Blues isn’t only the prospect of keeping this incredible season alive, but continuing to turn the page and progress towards “what we want to become”.

“We’re not the finished product and while we want the next five weeks to be as good as we can, we’re thinking about what group and what club we want to become in the long-term.

“Embrace everything. We’re lucky enough to play in front of big crowds during the year, the pressure of this month goes up to another level.

“We’re grateful to have such a supportive fanbase and know that 80 per cent of the crowd - especially at the ‘G - is going to be Blue and to embrace that.

“That noise can be a real superpower for us.”
